Nice for your first hardstyle track

Now I won't lie and say that I know anything about hardstyle, or the dance genre, but I can still give suggestions:

Now while it's hard to hear the background melody, it would help if it followed the chord a little better cuz it seems to be staying in F# minor through the whole thing.

The main problem with the beginning is that it doesn't clarify the note/chord, in fact it seems random until later in the song when you realize that the beginning melody was actually following the F# minor chord.

And you should bring the bassline out a bit more, it's hard to hear with everything else going.

And the last thing I want to address is the weird effect that the ending synth had on the track. I'm not sure, but I think that last synth might be causing clipping at the end, either that or it's an effect you put in yourself. Never easy to tell even with my headphones (|:^S)

The beginning may be a little too empty initially, that's the main thing that gets me.

The drums were nice as usual, very powerful, and the hihat sequence was particularly good.

I think that sums everything up, nice job on this and good luck with this account!

yeah i pretty much just had the intro sounding kinda random cuase i thought it up really quick so i could have an intro

yeah one of my speakers is broken so its really hard for me to tell what certain volumes are going to sound likeb4 i render, like my bassline, NOW hearing it yea i agree its pretty weak

oh that background arp, its just some arp that i found and i just layered the melody with the same melody as the arp, it made it feel alot more full, at leas i think so

And this song is pretty fucking good!

Very creative, the only thing that bothers me is the guitar that enters around 2:54 area. It just doesn't fit.

Nice chord choices, they make this song sound very mysterious. This is why I need to take music theory.

This song has a "lost in the woods" feeling, that's what I take from it. But yes, this is a damn good song! It gets a 5/5 10/10 from me and a favorite!

The main things that I'll critique on this is the beginning, which sounds really weird, and the compression.

The compression might have to be eased up because the bass is cutting off the snare and making it sound weird. A little EQ work might actually ease that up by getting rid of some of the ultralow frequencies in the kick.

The cellos make this song sound really epic though, I have to say.

Also, it's a little weird how the piano sounds louder and clearer than the section with the lead and the strings playing. Just some more mastering oddities. Good dynamics is essential to a song.

The drums are supposed to sound like that cause when I get the real version of the song up it wont Distort with the Bass note I put in. and I can understand how you are gonna give me your review as a professional but your not a Professional lol.

And for the beginning of the Song is Compressed for a reason. I made the beat this way how are you going to say something is off. when Clearly the 4 people before you and maybe more to add soon give a 10/10? anyway I still Love getting reviews cause id does in fact help me make get mad an make more shit haha

Hehehe, I've been on a reviewing spree lately

so it was funny when I caught this song right when it was uploaded rofl

Main problem is the volume. There's some clipping, so I'd recommend either attaching a compressor or adjusting the settings on the compressor.

For the piano melody around :43, I'd suggest letting the note sustain it's natural decline rather than having those quick cut offs on the notes.

As usual, the drum beat is impressive as hell.

This is a nice instrumental though, not much to critique on it. I like the strings especially because they're perfect for the background. And I also like the low piano melody/bassline.

The violin/cello melody

is a sticking point for me. In the second quarter of it's melody, when it repeats over and over again, I can safely say that it bugs the hell out of me. It may have been a bad idea to start the song with it.

The ambient synth is another minus. Considering the chord changes, having it sit on C is a really bad idea.

The drumbeat was pretty good though. I loved that part of the song.

Maybe have the voice saying "Ho" come in a little less, maybe half the time it usually comes in, to avoid repetitiveness.

Overall though, it's a pretty good beat. I could rap to this.

Not commenting on the fact that....

not only is it a sytrus preset, it's THE default sytrus preset.

Furthermore, it's a really bad choice to use in the manner in which you've used it. It's attack is slow to support any kind of melody. It's best for just playing chords.

And in addition, the song is essentially repeating over and over again, with the addition of one thing in the second half.

Since you seem pretty new at this FL thing though, I'll give you a 6 for beginner's effort.

i thank you gladly for the effort and help. if you listen to my other songs you will see that there isnt a pattern, and acctually this is one of my latest :) i wanted it to be this basic. for people to use (if its their choise).

When composing sadness....

It's important to emphasize legato. Furthermore, I would avoid continuous melodies such as the one that the piano had.

This song was almost sad, but it also had a triumphant quality to it, which might be the fault of the last chord in the progression, and especially at the end when the last two chords of the overall progression kept on repeating.

And the end was too weird, how it just cut off in the middle of that note.

Also, there were significant clipping issues with this piece that should be noted.

While this song does emphasize legato and the piano was pretty good at projecting sadness despite it's rapidity, it's not as sad as I would have hoped. And with everything else factored in, it's a solid 7.1 out of 10. Good attempt though, you came much closer to sadness than I did with my own composition. (although I was actually trying to project despair, not sadness, but whatever lol)

Excellent!!!

The things I like about this piece, since I can't really find anything to critique:

1) Unpredictable to the max.
2) All of the instruments are clear.
3) Great intro and outro.
4) Great control of the instruments.
5) Never lost focus on the theme once.

Well I do have a few things to critique now after listening for a while. First of all, it felt like it ended at 1:48. If something could be done about that, that would be great. Maybe a quick cresendo.
Furthermore, most of the song is legato with the exception of the piano, which is an italian term I can't remember lol. This is just my personal preference, but if there were cresendos, staccatos, just little compositional "effects", than this piece would probably have much more entertainment value. However, as a calming ambient piece, this is perfect.
And more on that point above, the whole song flows very calmly with no substantial flow changes except for that odd pause that felt like an end. Perfect for ambience, but my personal taste is for music that has many rises and falls, if you know what I mean.
But it's still a 10/10 5/5. Excellent job on this, you may be the best composer I've seen in a while. I'll wait to check out more of your stuff though to say that conclusively.

Your right, I probably should go back and redo that bit at 1:48. I can't get any other music going for me at the moment, so i guess working on that would be better than working on nothing at all.

Also, I find it rather odd that you enjoy the "Unpredictable to the max" aspect of the piece. Usually, something like maximum unpredictability in a slow song like this would be a bad thing, but now I know that not everyone thinks like that.

Don't worry, the joke was funny as hell.

For no VSTs tho, this is pretty good.

There are a few problems tho with the timing of the samples. Maybe you might wanna chop the first couple of milliseconds off the sample before use it.

Also, when the beep-like sound comes in, it's a bit weird cuz it switches from the F-minor scale to the C-minor scale every other bar. Just messes with the head a bit, you know?

But as soon as I heard those samples though, I couldn't help but laugh cuz no one else would think to use Zelda fairy samples in a song lol

yeah i didnt even think about fixing up the miliseconds of silence in the sample till, i was pretty much done, i was just to lazy to go back and reslice everything

i dont think music theory has any perks about scale jumping xD

Oh well, but seriously this deserves nothing but the highest ranking, in my opinion. It sounds sooooo professional, and yeah, that section I was talking about earlier is perfect now XD

I can offer this piece nothing but praise. So let me start praising this piece:

Great beginning! Amazing beginning, especially the bass drumroll and the timpani roll, exceptional way to start a song. And that little cresendo that I believe is a piccolo or something like that was perfect for this song.

Chord progressions simply beautiful, as was the instrument choice and the instrument articulations. The only instrument with slightly weird articulations was the cello at the same section I was talking about before, but even that's still great in it's own way. I would just suggest increasing the attack of the cello by a slight bit so that certain notes don't get lost.

And the mastering, mastering was awesome! Every instrument is crystal clear and the piece sounds so professional! You've definitely nailed epic in every single way!

Sorry I couldn't give much advice on this, so I just decided to point out what's good about it. That counts as constructive criticism, right? And it helps to inflate one's ego too, of course XD

I'll be downloading this, of course.
