It's a great song.

It really is. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that it uses the same chords repeatedly. I can't say much though because I used to have songs that did that. Everything else about the song is great though.

Zero123Music responds:

thanks alot.

This song was mainly practising progrressing a simple chord sequence by adding instruments and whatnot

thanks again

Eh, I tried to save your song score but...

some d-bag asshole cockmuncher came before me and used all of their influence to rate this song a zero, dropping the rating from 4 to somewhere around 1. Ain't that some shit? Anyway, this song impresses me for 2 reasons: 1 is the relative lack of variety of instruments. There are only 2 instruments and yet the song sounds great. Second is the way that you made note combinations that normally wouldn't sound at all okay sound good. Although I like the song, this gets a nine out of ten because of the fact that there are sequences that generally don't sound good. However, the good sequences do boost the song considerably. All I can tell you is this: GET SOME FREAKING SLEEP AND MAYBE YOU'LL GET A 10/10!!!!!!!!!!!

(BTW, i usually come up with my best stuff minutes before I hit dreamland. Unfortunately, that stuff usually exits my mind by the morning, so there are about 20 songs that could have been composed that haven't.)
(And my favorite kind of composition of all: dream composition. I've come up with completely original songs IN THE MIDDLE OF A FREAKING DREAM. If I get lucky, I can remember it in the morning. If not, oh well. But now I'm just rambling.)

galabadass responds:

Thanks for your comments!

Yeah D harmonic minor is a very useful scale for doing stuff like this. You can make awkward notes harmonize well, with out destroying the song. I just play the keyboard before I sleep, and make damn sure I get the stuff into my computer, otherwise, like you said, they will be lost forever the next morning.

Thanks for appreciating my music :)

Wait, did you say you used Symphonic Orchestra?

As in Vienna Symphonic Orchestra? That thing costs about 1000 dollars to even get a half-decent set of instruments! Goddamn, would you consider contributing to the broke composer fund? All the proceeds would go to....ME!!!!!!!! HAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

SilentTakedown responds:

It's called "East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra". It's used especially in Hollywood movies and in the video-games of today.

That was some good shit!!!

You've given me inspiration for the song I'm about to create soon. It's gonna be sicknasty thanks to you. That was some good shit tho.

blacknote responds:

Haha, thanks! I hope it's a good influence. Let me know when you've made the track I'd be happy to check it out! Thanks for reviewing.

um?

um, what's wit the author comments?

Blind-Bane responds:

i thought that maybe if i had comments like that it would get more views.. dont ask why i thought so.. i just did.

Hey, fuck u and many of the reviewers for...

shitting on rap! But you all are entitled to your opinions. I just say that u probably don't understand what it is that listeners like about rap lyrics and their style.

Contrary to the above though, I still rate this 10/10 5/5 because I still appreciate a good solid piece of music regardless of the artist's opinions on unrelated shit. And you're still one of my favorite artists that can teach me a thing or 2 to help me and my tracks. Did you ever think of trying to sell this or any other beats? Hell, this beat alone would most definitely sell.

(one of the things I love about rap personally is the beats because many of the new rappers suck 'cept a select few. While rap lyrics may have stagnated, the producers definitely have not. Except soulja boy's producers. They suck ass.)

Blind-Bane responds:

man, ive grown past the hating.. i dont hate rap anymore at all, all music is great. i made this ages ago..

thanks man :D

ive looked around for websites where u can auction off beats and shit but they pay like 5-6 $ for a beat -_-

muy bien, muy bien

That's how classical is done! You can teach me a lot. I've been trying to make a slow song but I just can't seem to get it the way I want to. But you seem to be great at it. Keep it up!

Xyirx responds:

I'm really happy you've got something from this piece. I started composing slow songs just recently, so it wouldn't be that great, but I try my best. ^^

Thanks for a comment.

That was wierd, to say the least...

I didn't expect that. That was weird as hell. weird as hell. as hell. I almost felt gay listening to that song, no offense. But it was still good. Keep it up man. Not like this song, but keep composing and producing these tracks.

Blind-Bane responds:

hahaha i felt gay making it.
yeah man music for life!

It feels like you could have done more...

I think you should have continued. This thirtyfive seconds is nothing at all, although those thirty-five seconds are nice themselves. One thing that annoys me is the inconclusive ending that was placed on this song. This song gives me some inspiration though. I'm going to take the general theme of this song and build upon this like no other. I'm going to make one hell of a song based on this one. Thank you for the inspiration. I can see it now.

Blind-Bane responds:

i was just testing the new orchestra VST out, i made this in like 5 - 6 minutes.. yeah the ending is pretty inconclusive, but i really wanted to hear the cello on its own. im glad it inspired you. go for it man, and once ur done link it to me !

ehh...

1) Too bland.
2) Too much, eh how do you say it, drawn-out chord.

1) it's just not very interesting, in my view. It just is, in my view. it just is. The searing chords were actually kind of annoying, in my opinion. Try to make it a little more interesting next time. Don't just use persistent chords. The synth-sound of it didn't help either. But I'm an orchestral type of artist, so that's a personal issue, not a generally helpful tip.

2) I touched on this on #1. The chords are annoying. Really annoying. There's no staccato, no solos, no anything. No rising notes, no falling notes, no portamento, slide, panning, anything. Nothing but chord and drum. Even in an unregistered version of FL Studio 8 one can do more than this. I should know since that's all I have used for 40+ songs. But back on the chords. Those chords are just way too bland. You have to change that for the next song. And I understand that it was made for a videogame, but many videogames have more elaborate songs than that. (there are some exceptions, but we should always aspire to do better than we think we can, or at least better than that person.)

I'm trying not to sound like an asshole. I apologize if I come across as such.

Cornered-Fear responds:

Well i read your whole comment [:P] and i would like to THANK you [as much as it hurts me XD] for your tips and i will implement them into my next piece.

Thank you, CF.

If you ever wanted to make high-quality music with low quality inexpensive shit, I'm the man to ask ;-)
